Principle
After 28 years of service in both the government and private sectors, TPr. Richard How founded Konsep Karisma Sdn. Bhd. in Seremban in 1994, followed by the establishment of the Melaka branch in 1996. His vision was clear: to provide innovative, high-quality town planning solutions that contribute meaningfully to Malaysia’s urban and regional development. Under his leadership, Konsep Karisma has grown into a trusted name in the industry, known for delivering projects on time and with a focus on sustainable and cost-effective outcomes. His hands-on approach ensures that every project benefits from his vast expertise and deep insight into the intricacies of urban planning.
With an illustrious career spanning 60 years in the town planning and development industry, TPr. Richard How is a highly regarded professional whose expertise has shaped both public and private sector projects. He holds a Diploma in Town Planning and a Master of Science in Town Planning from the prestigious University of Wales, UK. Over the course of more than five decades, he has built a deep understanding of urban planning principles, land use management, regulatory compliance, and sustainable development practices, making him a trusted authority in the field. His extensive experience includes 15 years serving as a state planner in Melaka and Seremban, where he played a pivotal role in shaping urban and regional planning policies.

Lau Soon Watt
Co-Founder of Konsep Karisma Melaka Branch
Mr. Lau Soon Watt is a highly experienced professional in the town planning industry, with a career spanning several decades. He began his journey as a technician in the State Town Planning Department, where he dedicated 20 years to supporting urban and regional planning initiatives. His expertise soon earned him the role of Technical Manager at private town planning company, where he served for two years before taking on a key role at Konsep Karisma.
In 1996, Mr. Lau spearheaded the establishment of Konsep Karisma’s Melaka branch, helping the company grow into one of the leading town planning consultancies in the region. His vast experience in town planning, combined with his strategic oversight, has been instrumental in shaping the company’s growth and reputation. Under his leadership, the Melaka branch flourished, consistently delivering high-quality services and strengthening Konsep Karisma’s standing as a trusted name in the industry.

TPr Lau Dor Ris
Associate Director & Town Planner
With 20 years of dedicated experience in the urban planning and design industry, TPr Lau Dor Ris has built an impressive career rooted in strong academic and professional foundations. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Urban and Regional Planning from UKM Bangi, complemented by a Master’s in Urban Design from UniSA, Australia. Her journey began with Konsep Karisma, where she started immediately after graduation. Through hard work and dedication, she has grown alongside the company, contributing to its development and success.
Now serving as Associate Director at Konsep Karisma, TPr Lau Dor Ris plays a pivotal role in leading the company toward greater achievements. Her expertise spans in strategic planning, master planning, land use management and urban design with experience in various sectors. She has participated in council meetings, handled high-profile clients, and overseen numerous projects, maintaining the company’s excellent reputation. As a leader,TPr Lau Dor Ris fosters teamwork, innovation, and strategic growth, ensuring Konsep Karisma’s continued rise in the industry. Her vast knowledge and forward-thinking approach to urban design and planning make her a driving force in shaping the future of the company.
Norazreen Binti Abu Bakar
Senior Planner
Azreen holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Urban and Regional Planning from the University of Malaya and has over 8 years of experience in physical urban planning since 2015. She began her career in Johor Bahru as a Town Planner, gaining valuable insights from the city’s rapid growth and development.
Later, Azreen moved to Melaka to advance her career as a Senior Planner, further deepening her expertise in land use, zoning, and sustainable development. Over time, she has developed a strong understanding of land use planning, essential for determining how various land types (residential, commercial, industrial, recreational) can be effectively developed and integrated within urban settings.
Muhammad Rozaini Bin Mohd Rom
Senior Planner
Rozaini, a holder of a Bachelor’s Degree in Urban and Regional Planning (BURP) from the International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM), has over 5 years of experience in physical urban planning and 2 years in development studies.
His involvement in diverse projects has made him skilled in executing and managing Planning Permission Approvals projects. Throughout his career, he has handled projects across various states including Melaka, Johor, Selangor, Terengganu, and Perlis, showcasing his adaptability to different local authorities across Peninsular Malaysia.
Muhammad Hasif Bin Ahmad
Senior Planner
Hasif Ahmad holds a Bachelor’s degree in Urban and Regional Planning from the International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM) and has been with Konsep Karisma Sdn Bhd for 7 years. During this time, he manages and prepare LCP (Development Proposal) Reports and he has been overseeing various outstation projects across the central region, including Sepang, Negeri Sembilan, and Johor.
In these roles, Hasif has gained invaluable experience in coordinating with local authorities, managing timelines, and ensuring project deliverables meet both client expectations and regulatory requirements. His hands-on approach and ability to manage projects in multiple regions simultaneously highlight his capability. His experience across different areas of the central region has enhanced his understanding of local planning policies and regional development strategies, making him a versatile and effective town planner.
